Re: have you nursed while preg

I nursed all through my second pregnancy and tandem nursed for 2 years. I had a healthy, 7 lbs 9 oz baby at 40 weeks 3 days. I'm 15 weeks with #3 right now and still nursing. So far, so good.

I got pregnant in March 2012 and DD was still nursing. I didn't even make it to 5 weeks with that one. Got pregnant with DS the next month and nursed DD through his pregnancy. He was born at 39 weeks 4 days weighing 7lbs 12oz and I tandem nursed until about a month ago when DD weaned.

I am 35 weeks and still nursing my 2 year old 3-4 times per day. So far all is well with baby and pregnancy. My supply did tank for a while and now I think she is just getting colustrum. I am starting to notice minor contractions when she nurses. We back off when that happens.

I think the hardest thing is keeping up on enough good nutrition and fluids.

I swear that happened to me. Although I think it was a failed miscarriage. I got pg in Sep 2011 but didn't have a baby until Nov 2012. Must have gotten pg, miscarriage, gotten pg again in Jan. She also was over 10 lbs.

Re: have you nursed while preg

I nursed through one pregnancy that ended at 11 weeks. The baby never developed past 4.5 weeks though, so I doubt it was caused by nursing.

Re: have you nursed while preg

I nursed about 3 months into my second pregnancy before my milk dried up. She was a 10 days overdue live birth.

I say vote with both outcomes. Option 3. It doesn't mean the mc was caused by nursing. I am just wondering how many people had a mc while nursing. Also I am sorry for your loss. Maybe reply back to explain the mc if you want to clarify.

Nursed to 20+ weeks with two different pregnancies which resulted in two full-term, totally healthy babies.
