I'm so jealous of your kids right now! I want to be 5 and play in that kitchen ALL day. Major kudos to your dad.

Thanks, everyone. I'm jealous, too - I think we need to ask my dad to build OUR kitchen next

Will post updated pictures once it is in place & stocked with our toys next month.

Share yours & be proud, Fairycat. When I first heard about them I pictured DH & I doing it and it literally would have been two second-hand desks/shelves attached & painted (maybe) nicely! We would have been there, too!

Wow, awesome. Did he find plans or just do it on his own?

He drew a sketch in person when we first talked about it (I wanted to make sure it had play space on either side of a counter so they could play restaurant, etc). I also specifically asked for it to be taller than a lot of plastic play kitchens are b/c I hope they'll use it for a long time - even when not so little. From what I recall, the sketch was very similar to what he has created. He probably drafted it out by hand with measurements...I should ask about that.

I love the idea that this will be used for a long time. He already suggested that we donate it to our kids' cooperative preschool when our kids are through with it.
