help!!! emergency!!!!

need help NOW mamas!!! i think the keflex is DRASTICALLY decreasing my milk supply. i haven't been eating well, though - can that do it? drinking is fine... for the last two days or so anyway. but baby gets one letdown, swallows for about 1 minute, and then NOTHING. my boobs are like, 1/8 the size that they normally are. i can't stop the antibiotics, but i don't want to stop nursing. please tell me what to do, ladies. i am drinking a HUGE glass of mother's milk tea right now.

i'm afraid if i don't "fix" this, my milk will be gone in the next 2 days.

Yep you need to stink a ton of water. When you think you've had enough drink more.

Re: help!!! emergency!!!!

okay, will drink this mother's milk tea, and then more water.

do you think not eating (like, i've stayed under probably 500 calories a day for 4-5 days now) has anything to do with it?

It has a lot more to do with being dehydrated.

Yes. Extreme dieting will drop milk supply very quickly.

Eat oatmeal and take fenugreek, milk thistle, or mulunggay--whatever nursing herbs you have for a few days to catch up. I guess the tea would be the same thing though. I'm just not a fan of tea personally wish I was.

Eating (or not eating) will certainly affect your supply. No calories for your body to make milk.
