I don't want to take that again. I took it for migraines 5mo PP with my last kiddo, and it was SO counterproductive. I don't want to get on it for milk help, and then have rebound headaches from it later on.

Re: help!!! emergency!!!!

i pumped BOTH sides about an hour and a half ago, and got two ounces total. combine that with the 3/4 of an ounce earlier, and the 2-3 VERY short nursing sessions today, and atleast there's something in there. that makes me feel better. long way to go.. but we're making progress. going to pump as often as i can (about every 90-120 minutes), and just nurse him as often as he will and hope that the next 2-3 days, this turns around.

There are ALWAYS alternative medication choices. Perhaps contact infantrisk.com and ask them for suggestions to take to your doctor.

Re: help!!! emergency!!!!

If you are on pinterest I would look up recipes for lactation cookies and make a batch. They help and are an easy way to get in some extra calories. Try not to stress about it too much, stress can affect all kinds of things in your body. Nurse/pump often since your bodies supply will react to you needing more outgoing. Skin on skin/cuddling with baby will also help your supply. Drink lots of water. Not constantly, your body needs to be able to use the water not just flush it out. I would aim for an 8 oz glass every hr-2 hrs or so for today then maybe a little less tomorrow. There IS such a thing as too much water. Drinking the mothers milk tea should help and stay away from peppermint! It decreases supply!

More sleep always always boosts my supply. Maybe you can take a nap with baby and go to bed a little earlier, too.

I've been in bed for 4 days, lol. Literally... IN bed. Napping with baby, then dh takes the baby and I sleep. I've just been trying to sleep away this illness.

Yeah, I read on kellymom or something that water itself does not increase supply, and it can actually flush GOOD vitamins out of your breastmilk if you drink too much. So I am drinking a 44oz glass about every 5 hours right now. Just taking sips every few minutes. Baby just nursed and got two letdowns, and that was it. I think we're on our way, but I'm more of an instant gratification type person, lol.

I would do the lactation cookies, but I honestly can't stand for more than about 6 minutes without wanting to fall over. I'm so weak. I'm hoping it'll pass in the next day or two, but we'll see. Just trying to munch on as much as I can here and there, ANY calories at all, to help boost my supply.

Re: help!!! emergency!!!!

You said you are almost done with the meds so I would not worry - your supply will build up afterwards.

I had to wean for 4 weeks because of Doxy (Lymes - I took Amox for 4 weeks and it did not get rid of it, so I had no choice but to go with doxy). Anyways, after 4 weeks of no nursing, she latched right back on and my milk came back. Its kinda like a supply and demand thing - you will be fine, in a week or whenever you are off of it you will notice it increase (as long as your baby still nurses often).

Re: help!!! emergency!!!!

great news!!!! i pumped TWO OUNCES about an hour ago just from the right side! i have eaten roughly 900 calories today, so a TON more than i've been having, and the day isn't over yet. was thinking about as much pizza as i can shove in my face for dinner. go carbs! not really feeling the food thing, i can't lie... but i am desperate not to stop nursing.

the milk was light blue (foremilk) so i know that most of the milk he is getting, is low calorie, which is why he wants to eat constantly, but that's fine. it seems like my milk dropped literally, overnight.
