So glad you asked! I was just coming on here to ask the same thing.

Longies or a fleece sleeper. We don't use super stuffed diapers though, just a Flip organic and doubler. My youngest is a super soaker though so I put a soaker over the diaper and it all fits under a fleece sleeper. Otherwise I just use longies and a onsie snapped over them to keep his belly warm.

We actually have a pair of the Grateful Buns underwater longies already and I love them but they are so thick I can't use them every night b/c they take that long to dry. So I need to alternate. I could just bite the bullet and buy a second pair...

Great idea, wish I'd thought of it last winter when he was little...at this point he would surely pull them off about 7 seconds after I put them on him He probably wouldn't mind at all but it would bother me to know he's pantless!

Has anyone tried Disana leggings? It seems like they may fit the bill perfectly and have lots of other uses as well. Not cheap, but sufficiently versatile that I can rationalize the cost...

We use Bumby silky longies. They have a sling inside of fuzzy interlock (what you generally think of interlock being) so that is nice and absorbent. But because they are silky, they aren't as heavy.

Re: Wool users--what do you do for winter PJs?

I've used Carter's fleece sleepers sized up...toasty but good for winter. I bought a bunch of fleece track pants in a few sizes up at Children's Place when they were $2 each right before summer, and now they are nice for PJ pants. I also have 7 upcycled pairs of longies, some are way too big for him right now but are okay at night.LOL

Re: Wool users--what do you do for winter PJs?

i made an upcycled longie from a thrifted cashmere sweater that is awesome! it's more like an overall without the straps, as the waistband is super wide and goes all the way up to his armpits. it was only 8 bucks, and i was able to use the same sweater on part of another pair, so i say it was money well spent. wool doesn't have to be expensive

If you are worried about wicking, then I think you're most affordable options are going to be upcycled wool pants, fleece pants, or fleece sleepers. My son always hated fleece sleepers, and IMHO the current sleepers are cut VERY trim and it's hard to fit a fluffy bum into them! He was fine with pant/shirt sets. Also, if you look at WAHM fleece pants they are often cut roomier to accommodate cloth diaper -- at least I know for sure that mine are and would hope others are as well
