I think Carey looks girlie... but Kerry looks masculine. Of course, I couldn't help humming "A Boy Named Sue" but you should do whatever you want to do.

I see Carey and I'd probably think "girl" but it's your son, name him whatever you want!

I think Cary Grant (and he was not girly in the slightest). There is also a Cary on the show The Good Wife. I think I like it better for a boy than a girl. Oh and Cary Brothers is awesome too.

FWIW all the male Cary's I know of spell it Cary not Carey.

I immediately think of Cary grant, so obviously masculine .

I wouldn't spell it Carey or Kerry though, those both seem more feminine to me, I like Cary.

K names always seem feminine to me, I've got a nephew named kaleb and I know it has no bearing on my life but I so wish his name was spelled Caleb... But not my kid.

Re: Is this boy name too girly?

Yeah, DH has spelled it "Carey" if we're texting/e-mailing about it, but the males I have heard of named it are always spelled "Cary". We'd definitely be pairing it with a strong masculine middle name. We shall see. DH wants to sit on it a while longer to let it stew a bit. The other boy names we're considering are very traditional and strongly masculine (as is our older son's name), so this is kind of offbeat for us.

Re: Is this boy name too girly?

For me it is too girly. But I have a sister Kerri. And I don't like boys names ending with an "E" sound. But that is just my opinion. If you love the name you use it!
