Re: Flying with car seats

I have never seen a car seat used in flight. My son's first flight at 9 months he was on my lap. His second flight he was just past 3, and he is spirited. I had no idea how he would handle the flight. We would need the seat at our destination anyway so I decided we would use it on the plane. From what I've read it can help kids who are scared because it is familiar. Added safety was honestly just a bonus.

Our return flight home we hit the very worst turbulence I have EVER experienced. Every plane ahead of us had a smooth flight so it was completely unexpected. If I hadn't had my belt on I would've been out of my seat. Things flew around the cabin. People were crying. I will always have a seat and the car seat for my children after that!

We went to Mexico when ds was 6 months and didn't bring a carseat. Definitely wouldn't have wanted it on the plane! Babe would have thrown a fit in it and it would've just been a waste of space.

That must have been terrifying.

It amazes me that people can read a story like yours and still think it is fine to not have their child in a car seat on a plane
