Travelling - carseat/CARES

Hi!

We will be going to an all-inclusive in Mar. I am wondering what to do re carseat. My daughter is 5 and we are booster training her, she is 5 and almost 40 lbs. For the plane I was planning to use the CARES, but then I realized I need to bring a seat for the ride from the airport to resort. Can CARES be used with a booster seat? Any other possible solutions? Or advice?

Tha ks in advance

Boosters can't be used on a plane. If she is five, you don't need a CARES. That is more for toddlers.

I would get Harmony LBB (small and flat) and pack it in your suitcase. Or...if she hits 40 pounds before then, the Bubble Bum is PERFECT for you. It inflates and is a IIHS best bet booster, and then deflates and goes in your backpack. But it has a 40 pound minimum.

Re: Travelling - carseat/CARES

Are you aware that in Ontario the legal minimum to booster a child is 40 lbs?

I would bring a carseat. You will not be tight on space at a resort and can just stick it in a closet. Plus if you decide to go on excursions or sightseeing it will really come in handy. How about a light combination (harness to booster) seat if you don't have one already?

What about the safe rider vest?

We are considering that to get 3 across the back seat of our van.

Thanks for the ideas ladies! I didn't know boosters couldn't be used on planes.
