Just wanted to offer support! My 7mos will not take a bottle still. We've moved on to sippys which she won't take either. Hugs! It can be frustrating.

Re: Best bottle
My 7 month old won't take bottles either! When I went back to work it was really rough. She hated the bottle and would scream and push it away when her daycare would try to feed her. I feed her on my lunch break. Now she will "play" with the bottle and take a couple of sips. She's only ever taken 2 oz over an 8 hour period. She just prefers to get her milk from the source! I think I spent at least $100 on various bottles, nipples, and sippy cups. My freezer is over flowing with stocked up milk! We nurse many times in the evening when I'm off of work and she wakes 3-4 times a night. Lately, I'm starting to feel the drain of being up so often at night.

Re: Best bottle
Oh, I should add that the 2 bottles she does best with are the Medela and Tommy Tippee.

Re: Best bottle
We love the platex drop in nurser. My lactation consultant recommended them.

Re: Best bottle
We use the Tommee Tippee slow flow nipples and colic bottles. She's a breast fed baby with no problems going back and forth between nipple and bottle. Been using them since I returned to work at 8 weeks and she's 15 weeks now. She refused the Medela Calma, ADR Brown's and Aveda before finding these.

Re: Best bottle
Oh, I feel your pain. The only bottle DD will take in the Medela Calma. We had seriously tried everything - different speeds of bottles, about 11 different bottles, etc. The Calma was the only one she would latch on, and, after about a week, she really got the hang of drinking out of it. Good luck!
Have you tried to leave when the bottle is offered? |

Re: Best bottle
Try something with wider nipples that mimic the shape of a breast. Examples: Tommee Tippee, Mimijumi, Comotomo, Avent.

Re: Best bottle
We used playtex ventairs with the first 2 and life factory glass bottles with the third. Life factory nipples were a little fast at first but now that he's older they seem to be perfect.

Re: Best bottle
For us, the most important thing was the nipple. We've found Mam nipple to be the best and could use them with other bottles (like philips, medela pump bottles).
I bought a lot of bottles (dr browns, comotomo, philips) and wound up using mam nipple the best. |
