Age appropriatness of a radioflyer tricycle?

I was toying with the idea of saving up to get both boys radio flyer tricycles for next christams. They will be 2 and 4. Is the 4 year old too old? They cost 100 euro, so I dont want to get something too young for him, but I really wanted to get them a duo gift, they can use together and not fight over.

I'd get the 4 year old a bike. My son has been riding one since he was newly 3.

4 is too old for a tricycle. If you really want to get them the same thing, get two balance bikes, or two scooters (maybe a 3 wheel scooter for the 2yo and a 2 wheel for the 4yo)

I agree about the scooter. Although my almost 4 year old is still.using the three wheeled radio flyer scooter and probably will for at least another year.

I don't know that I would buy one for a 4 yr old, but heck, my 3 1/2 yr olds loves his bike, as does my 6 yr old nephew, but both still zip around on our tricycles too. My 3 1/2 yr old was actually gifted a Harley stickered "motorcycle" tricycle for his birthday back in August. He LOVES it and rides it daily (we keep this one inside).

Re: Age appropriatness of a radioflyer tricycle?

I swear I rode a big wheel till I was like 8 but maybe I am nuts and my memory fails me. What about a trike and a big wheel or is that the same lol

The big wheel style trike says till age 7 and its only 2 bucks more then the trike, maybe a trike for the little one and a big wheel for the older one?
