Food Dye or what? Colored marshmallows

So, my daughter puked today on the way to my other daughters dance class. Hubs had given her pink marshmallows. Thats what she puked up, whole. At first we were worried maybe she had a bug but she acts fine now. And we havent left the house since sunday so we havent been exposed to anything. Then I remembered this past summer I *think*, cant remember for sure, but something tells me she had ate some mini colored marshmallows and then we left and she puked in the van that day as well. I know food coloring is bad and we do try to stear clear it for the most part. Both times the marshmallows were gifts from people. DD has ate white marshmallows before though and never had a problem. And she has ate food coloring also. So, could it be just the combination of the food coloring, sugar, etc. that she cant handle or is there something in colored marshmallows that she could be allergic too? We dont know of anything that she is allergic to so far.
Am I grasping at straws here or am I on to something?

p.s. I dont think it's car sickness because we travel alot and she's never had a problem before. The only other time she got car sick was the other time she had colored marshmallows. The combination of motion and the sugar/dye?

Re: Food Dye or what? Colored marshmallows

Could be a lot of things, but since it's just vomit, I'd might wait a couple of days and give her some more and see what happens. Marshmallows always make me feel slightly ill but I think it's the sweetness and the coloured ones always seem ever sweeter - although I've never looked to see if that's actually true or just my imagination.

I would go with too much sugar, personally.

My son called pink milk "puke milk" for the longest time. We gave it 3 tries. Puked after each time. Not really sure what it was.

I'm allergic/sensitive to red dye and it makes me puke.
I would test it out again in a few days. Maybe find something else with the same dye? Then you would know if it was the dye or the marshmallows.
