Favorite nipple creams?

My sister is expecting her first little one and I wanted to give her a few things that might make postpartum a little easier. My LO has a very high palate and WOW was nursing difficult those first weeks (ok, months). I wanted to include a nipple cream for her but wasn't sure what the best one was. What worked the best for you?

Re: Favorite nipple creams?

I got a scrip for all purpose nipple ointment. Not something that you can get for her but I think it's the best. I also found lanolin helpful but I didn't use it near as often. A lot of people like Earth Mama Angel Baby nipple butter but I hated it. Too thin and it smelled like chocolate/cocoa which gagged me.

Thanks for the replies. I used mother's love nipple cream but since that's all I tried I really can't compare. Has anyone tried mother's love who found something they liked better? I liked it, didn't love it, but don't know where my expectations should be...

Does coconut oil work just as well? That would be a fantastic alternative. Thanks for the heads up about the earth mama kind, that was a brand I was curious about.

My favorite was the Medela brand lanolin. I didn't feel like the Motherlove cream did anything at all. And the Lansinoh lanolin was so sticky that I wanted to screams in pain just from applying it. Coconut oil didn't work for me, but it would be awesome if it did.

Another vote here for the Medela Lanolin!
Last time I just had the Lansinoh lanolin, but its so sticky that sometimes it almost hurt to put it on. This time I bought the Medela kind to give it a shot and love it

Re: Favorite nipple creams?

I liked the Lansinoh Lanolin the best. I would suggest buying her a small rice pack she can microwave as well. Seemed to work well for me with clogged ducts and overall soreness.

I didn't need any with either of my children. I was gifted some lansinoh and it works great as moisturizer for lips. I carry that everywhere
