My spouses family doesn't like the name we chose but they got to name their children. I get to name mine.

Or not normal spelling. I'm going with Elinor for my daughter due this August. My DH's grandma said "when she starts school, all her teachers will tell her it's spelled wrong". I thought I could spell my baby's name however I want! Have you seen the way names are spelled nowadays? I think changing the "ea" to an "i" isn't that extreme.

Lol you're right! As a Shakeeta, I have to introduce myself as "I'm Shakeeta. It's phonetically spelled, very simple." When I named my daughter Mackenzie, I didn't think it would be so difficult for people to spell. Everyone wants to do McK and I do not like that spelling at all (no offense to anyone who likes it).
