Kidney stones + 24 weeks preg

Anyone have kidney stones while pregnant? I'm waiting for them to pass and am in agony but don't trust the pain Meds they gave me. I'm 24 weeks along with a baby girl who already has an omphalocele. What pain Meds did you take if any and how is LO now?

I had my one and I pray only kidney stone when my youngest was 8 weeks old. It required surgery.
I've never had them while pregnant but I wanted to sympathize with you. I think it would cause me to lose my mind.

I had them with DS at 28 weeks. They were excruciating, to the point of curling up in a ball and sobbing (I never did that during my natural labour). Unfortunately I did need some pain meds - morphine once but it did nothing and Demerol a few times. Thank god my son is completely fine, but I had enormous guilt about needing the pain meds. But I did need them - the pain made me vomit and I couldn't leave the hospital. I am currently 29 weeks and praying I do not get them again.

Good luck! Hopefully you are able to pass them quickly (was about 5? days for me if I recall correctly).

I take lortab for pain 3 nights a week so that my body can relax and recoup. I deal with chronic pain from neuropathy and my usual medication is not safe in pregnancy.

Re: Kidney stones + 24 weeks preg

I just spent time in the hospital for what they thought was a kidney stone. Which it still very well could have been and I could have passed it they just didn't catch it. But it was the worst pain ever. They are thinking it was more likely my intestines flaring up which hasn't happened in a few years but the pain was excruciating. So I know I can't sympathize with you exactly but I was 37 weeks (Now 40+3) with awful pain that didn't go away for well over 12 hours and accepted a little bit of morphine. Then felt terrible and refused anything else because it didn't help and I hate medication. I hope you feel better! I see a chiropractor and she has helped even more since I spent the night in the hospital a few weekends ago. Hugs!

Thank you! I haven't passed them yet I feel like I feel one on my left side but the pain comes and goes in waves. They gave me Vicodin which I haven't taken yet since discharge.
