Announcing on Facebook (loss/struggles mentioned)

So, this pregnancy happened at the right time for me to announce on Facebook on April 1st, if I wanted. I kinda want to, but then multiple people have been posting graphics saying how insensitive a fake pregnancy announcement is on that day to people who are struggling with infertility or who have recently suffered a loss. I get that. Those fake announcements have caused me some angst in the past, since I'm a loss mom.

But this is a real pregnancy, so I thought it would be nice to have a real announcement in among all the fake ones that would pop up. Maybe I can compromise and wait and make the post at like 11:00 at night, just preparing for people to see it on the 2nd? I have multiple loss mom friends on FB and I would never post a fake pregnancy announcement at any time for any reason, but I'm torn with what to do here and could use some thoughts.

If you do a cute pregnancy announcement pic, people will know yours is real.

A friend of mine posted her real announcement on that day last year. I think it would be better to just do it the day before or after though. So many people wont believe you and then you will have to do more confirming that you are then you will probably want to lol

I think if you're questioning yourself on it, you shouldn't do it. I know a few of our mutual friends would probably be a bit shocked if you did. I think doing it the day after could be just as fun. "Today is April 2and and that means..... this isn't a joke!" and then post your test. Btw, you are 100% glowing in the pic you just posted!

I'd probably wait a day or so. I agree with the previous poster about second guessing yourself. If you have to ask, it's probably a no.

Super excited for you! I like waiting until April 2. I'll do my gender reveal that day, even though my ultrasound is tomorrow

Re: Announcing on Facebook (loss/struggles mentioned)

I'm gonna do it.

I took a picture of Benjamin "whispering" in Josiah's ear (took me about 50 times to get a suitable picture, lol) and I'm going to post it with the caption, "Benjamin giving Josiah some much-needed advice on how to be a great big brother."

I was just going to post a picture of the test and say "Eeep!" But I think I like the brothers more. That way they'll actually get seen and not just glossed over with all the other pg test pictures (real or not).
