What's your nighttime nursing routine for your six to twelve month old LO??

Re: Nighttime nursing routine? (6-12mon LOs)

To be honest, ours hasn't changed all that much since about 7 months old. We sometimes bathe him, but not every night. Otherwise, it's very simple: diaper, pajamas, turn down lights, brush teeth, kisses and hugs from daddy, and then nurse and rock with mom. I nurse him on a rocking chair in his bedroom and then put him in the crib. I used to call my husband to place the baby in the crib, but I manage it alone now. At this age, I try not to nurse at night; however, some nights require more than one nursing session.

What do you do when you get up to feed at night? That's what I meant to ask...

Like... Do you nurse in a rocking chair or lay down with LO? How long does it take you to get baby back to sleep?

I nurse baby back to sleep in our bed. Most of the time I fall asleep while doing it.
He started sleeping through the night at eight months so we haven't had to deal with it much.

I nurse him in a rocking chair. He is probably kind of old for it, but it's what works best for us. Some nights are rougher than others, and I will bring him to bed with him. However, I sleep like crap on those nights and I am very unpleasant during the day. So I try very hard to get him back in the crib after nursing. When he is teething or going through a growth spurt, well, it's a real crap shoot as to what WILL work, so we do what we can on those nights.

He is in his own room10.5 months old. He wakes up,I feed him in a rocker, and he is asleep again after 10 minutes. I put him back in his crib and go back to bed. Its fast, but I'd still rather be sleeping. H wakes me up 1-3 times a night, last one is sometimes 5:30am, but he gets up for the day around 7:30 in those instances. HTH!

Re: Nighttime nursing routine? (6-12mon LOs)

DD just recently started sleeping through the night, but our routine before that was for DH to bring her into our room and I'd nurse her in the bed, then he'd take her back to her crib and she'd pretty much fall right back to sleep. If he wasn't home (working overnights) then I'd get up and go into her room and nurse her in the rocking chair.

His crib is side-car'd to our bed so I just reach over, pull him into our bed, nurse him and usually fall asleep while doing it. He usually spends the rest of the night in our bed next to me.

This just started. I will nurse baby around 6:45. Then put her to bed after. She's been awake but then falls asleep on her own. She's been waking up between 2 and 3 and goes back to sleep immediately after nursing. She's up for the day between 6-630.

Re: Nighttime nursing routine? (6-12mon LOs)

Both babies are in our room. We just got them to the point where both start out in the crib in our room most nights. They have a little baby food & nurse/bottle, then to bed around 8pm. If they're restless, or if we skip the baby food, they may get a dream feed around 11. They each wake for a quick feed once overnight (@ different times). I bring baby into bed to nurse. Most of the time I fall asleep. I usually wake up 20min-2hrs later...or when the other baby wakes. If baby unlatched, or if I can get her to release w/o a fuss, she goes back to the crib. Frequently, one will want to comfort nurse on & off all night or will rouse for a cuddle & paci. I try to roll with it, but it's a gentle pressure toward fewer feedings & less time in my bed at night. I'm super touched out at this point & really fried from broken, uncomfortable sleep.
