What type of bottle to use ?

My ds is 2 montgs old and we give him the occasional pumped bottle from tommee tipee brand . It's slow flow but it still comes out twice as fast as my breast . Thoughts or maybe suggestion of bottle brand

Medela sells a calma nipple that mimics breast feeding. Its designed to make them have to work for it. I've heard they are nice.

I used Dr. Brown nipples and started with the preemie flow. Only problem was that DD#3 liked the darn bottles so much she self weaned at 6 months, she's always been a big kid in a little kids body though.

I have used playtex drop ins slow flow, Nuk slow flow and the lansolin slow flow and tomy tippie slow flow and all are still real fast. For this reason I have tried the dr browns preemie nipple and it is actually slow flow.

Re: What type of bottle to use ?

We use the Calma nipples the previous poster mentioned. I really like them. The sucking motion is similar to breastfeeding and the baby has to make a suction which helps. They aren't really slow flow though. If the baby is sucking a lot they milk will start flowing quickly. We used to just slow this down by unlatching from the diaper, burping baby for a minute, then feeding more. Now that she's well established with breastfeeding we just let her drink it as fast as it comes.

mOmma is good if your baby is an established breastfeeder We went through six bottles with DS3 before we found one that he would take...
