Re: Taci is a Tummy Sleeper,Make Me Feel Better About This
Both my kids were like that.
my son would roll over in his sleep and i would keep rolling him onto his back, which only in the end disturbed his peaceful sleeping. my dd has slept on her belly from practically day 1. that is the ONLY way we could get her to sleep for more than 5 mins at a time. although it still freaks me out once and a while. i have gotten comfortable seeing them sleep like that

This site has lots of SIDS info that isn't readily taken in America... but I completely buy into it. They have good info and stats. My DD slept on her tummy as soon as she startd to roll over and I will be 'wrapping the mattress' for my new son and letting him sleep anyway he pleases. I hope this helps calm your nerves.

I would of been worried about it too.. if I could of stayed awake long enough to worry about it. lol It's fine.. once they can start rolling over by themselves, it's less of a risk. |

Re: Taci is a Tummy Sleeper,Make Me Feel Better About This
Both my boys slept on their tummy's from day one. It was the only way we could get any sleep at night. I was nervous whenever I would read an article or hear somthing about SIDS but I just had and still do have faith that God is going to protect them while they sleep. I pray that every night!

Re: Taci is a Tummy Sleeper,Make Me Feel Better About This
OK First of all make sure that there are no fluffy blankets around.... Don't cover her except from the waist down with anything but a light flannel or a sheet. This scares me. A friend of mine had a baby that rolled over and was almost crawling... She suffocated herself in her comforter... the crib one... not like a big fluffy. I would reccommend a wedge to help prevent this. Just a side note.. I was a tummy sleeper and I was fine. But I put DS on his side. I am just a freak since I went to that funeral. Sorry to be the only negitive mama on this post... But I just had to.

Re: Taci is a Tummy Sleeper,Make Me Feel Better About This
A friend of a friend had her little one pass away in the crib. But come to find out they had TONS of animals and whatnot in the crib.
With us our youngest wouldn't sleep for weeks except if he was on his tummy on one of us. Finally I tried laying him on his belly and that's how he sleeps to this day. I do want to say that there is NOTHING in his crib---during winter we dressed him in a onsie and one of those blanket outfits--now that it's summer he sleeps in his diaper and that's it. The only thing in the crib is a mattress fitted sheet and baby. |

Re: Taci is a Tummy Sleeper,Make Me Feel Better About This
Both my girls have been tummy sleepers since birth! With DD#1 I was a little apprehensive, but I figured if she could hold her head up (which she could), then she could turn her head to breathe. Even my girls' pediatrician said he is required to inform us about SIDS and recommend back sleeping, however, both his boys were tummy sleepers. Since then it has never worried me. I don't sleep well on my back, so why should my girls?
