Breastfeeding & Trying To Conceive

Hi everyone,
I am breasfeeding my 8 month old and we have decided to ttc. I was a little skeptical at first for trying so soon. I was afraid of losing the bond I have with my little man but I really want him to have sibling very close in age. Also, for those of you who have experience in nursing while pregnant & tandem nursing I would appreciate some info. How can you tell how far along you are if AF hasn't come back yet?

Are you charting your temps and checking cm? That would be how to tell if you ovulated. There are plenty of mamas on here who are nursing and pregnant, but my body didn't ovulate again until dd was almost weaned. I think it just depends on your body....

No I haven't started doing any of this. We actually just decided to start trying. What is the best & easiest way to do this?

Re: Breastfeeding & Trying To Conceive

I'm in the same boat! My DS is 8 mo and still bf'ing and we are ttc as well. I have had one period, back in May, and nothing since. Before I got pregnant with my DS, I always could tell when I was ovulating because I got a pain in my side and my (TMI) mucus changed. I'm trying to look for that stuff again, but I'm not going to chart temps or anything unless it takes a long time to get pregnant. Right now we are just "trying" fairly often, and I'm trying to figure out exactly when I'm ovulating based on what my body is doing.

Good luck mama!

Good luck to you too mama! I am sending good vibes your way!
I don't want to have to chart all that stuff. I just want it all to happen naturally!
