I was using one of these, but Gracie's sturdy enough to sit in the tub now. I got it at Walmart, I think it was around $35CAD.

Now I'm looking for one of these, as she likes to crawl around in the tub and I'm scared she's going to take a nose dive one of these days. I'm always right there with her, but we all know how slippery a wet baby is.

At 8 months, I either took him with me in the shower in a water pouch or I went in bath with him.

i use the infant tub in the big tub and use the shower sprayer. She likes to splash around and its easiest that way. I use my hand or a baby wash cloth to 'scrub' with a bit of soap then I hold her w/1 hand, empty the tub to get rid of the soapy (dirty) water and start over to rinse. takes >10min if I want it to and much longer if I want as well. I also find that having a 'special' bath toy helps so they have something to give their attention to.

I've been bathing Jacob in the kitchen sink for awhile now. My back kills me when he's in the bathtub and I'm always so scared he's gonna slip and hurt himself. They have those suction bath ring seats but my TRU & Target don't have them in stock so I haven't gotten one yet!

I hated the infant tubs and those seats. Tried them both once and couldn't deal w/ all the slipping and the hard plastic parts.
I go to target (or you could get them anywhere really) and in the baby aisle they have these big bath sponges, like the size of a small infant bath tub. When mine are newborns i lay the sponge in the bathtub w/ a couple inches of water and lay baby on it. The sponge soaks the warm water and keeps baby warm while i wash her w/out any slipping. Then when they're old enough to sit (like yours) they can sit on the sponge in the bathtub w/out sliding around. You just hang it to dry when you're done...and it's only like $3-$4.

DS and I always bathe together. He used the infant tub twice, and that was while we were waiting for his cord to fall off.

At that age, I put ds in the big tub or sat him up in the infant tup because I have one that is newborn- toddler hood, but he plays and does better in the big bath tub
