Re: A tried and true method to getting small things out of a toddler's nose...

My son thinks its funny when we suck him with the vacuum on his foot, or act like we're going to. If he got something stuck up his nose, I *might* try it before we went to the ER. We wouldn't tell anyone we did it though.

D'oh! He wouldn't touch it after we got it out and kept telling us it was naughty spaghetti (all pasta, in any form is spaghetti here).

But hey, it works!!

Too funny!

The nice lady at the library's story hour introduced my twins to the book called . . .

"Mabel O'Leary Put Peas In Her Ear-y!"

We are not going back to story hour.

Re: A tried and true method to getting small things out of a toddler's nose...

My brothers stuck beans (both cooked and uncooked), pasta, cheerios, fruit loops (!), pennies, and one very unfortunate lego-man's head up their noses and/or down their ears. My mom had her share of ER visits to have their "experiments" removed, and no one ever taught her that trick - she sure could have used it! I will definately have to keep that in mind - given ds's uncles and thier nasal exploits, I am sure we will have our hands full!
