Buying used diaps?

Forgive me if this sounds ignorant -- I am new to this.

I started building my stash (actually I bought diaps in a whirlwind ). I am pretty excited. I bought some used ones and I bought some new ones.

In regards to using the used ones -- are there health concerns/issues? How should I wash them to make sure they are safe? Thanks!

When I get "new" used dipes to me, I just wash on hot a couple times and they are good to go! You can turn up your water heater on high for that wash. My washing machine has an internal heater that goes up to "sanitize" conditions for water heat, but just a few times on hot is what works for me.

Yep, same here, just washing on hot a few times and that's it.

Sometimes I wash 'em , sometimes I don't - usually I will if they smell perfumey. I really can't come up with anything that my baby might get from a clean used diaper that hasn't been on another baby's butt for days. besides possible a rash reacting with someone else's detergent. (btw, I'm a family doctor, so I'm pretty up on my contagious diseases and how they are transmitted).

Wash them on really hot, if they seem scary for some reason maybe add a tiny, tiny amount of bleach (if it's just cotton).

If you think about it, that's what they do with diaper service, all those babies wear diaps other kids have worn. The diaper service I looked into said they wash on super hot with the small amount of bleach (like 1/2 cup per 200 diapers if I remember right)

I was them a couple times on hot before my kiddos wear them.
