The girl that lived across the hall from me in college (CSC) was from Basset, Roberta Woodruff. She'd be about 31 now, but I don't know if she went back there. And yes, I do know where Bassett is, lol. My oldest brother lives outside Fremont, so when we would drive down we would go that route, through Ainsworth, Norfolk, Columbus, etc. I can't believe I even remember the names, I haven't made that drive in like 10 years!

I went to CSC for 3 years! Chadron's a cute town. 2 hours north of my hometown of Sidney.

Expecting #3, hoping to find a midwife who will assist at a homebirth - anyone know what direction to point us in??

Last I knew planned home births are not legal in Nebraska. That is, it is against the law for a midwife or a doctor to attend a home birth, not that you can't do it all on your lonesome (but that's pretty dangerous).

Hi! I'm the vice chair for Nebraska Friends of Midwives. There's actually nothing in the statutes regarding physicians and home births but I am not aware of any in the state that will attend them. It is not legal for midwives to attend home births; all the Certified Nurse-Midwives in the state will only attend hospital births. There are a few direct-entry midwives if you can find them.
