We started around 3-4months, even with ds being preemie he was showing signs, and we started with rice, and he did not have toung problems and actually ate it, so he was ready.

4.5 months. DS has acid reflux though, so that was the only reason. The Peds had been telling me to give him rice cereal since he was about a month. I finally decided to give it a try. I'm SOOOO glad I did! He's doing awesome with it! He's happier, not spitting up as much, sleeping better, etc. I think he's sleeping better because he doesn't get hungry as quickly. His improved sleep has made him such a happier little guy! I would NEVER feed him just to get him to sleep longer! But the fact that he's not puking constantly is enough motivation for me to keep him eating. He loves it too. He's also had watermelon already, lol, but that's a totally different story.

5 months with both. They were both sitting unassisted at that point and had a definate interest in food. I believe that they were ready.

I just started him on solids about 3 weeks ago, and he's 5 1/2 months. He was definatly ready for it too. He started on avocado, and has now also tried banana and oatmeal cereal.

We started DS right at 4 months. I wasn't planning on it until at least 6 months but he would watch us like a hawk and smack his lips when he saw us eating something. LOL Plus, DS has always been on the small side (not underweight, just small for his age) so I figured it couldn't hurt!

Everyone has their issues, lol.
