Re: Need encouragement

I would have to report her or something. That is just completely uncalled for. She sounds like she belong more with the crowd that thinks breastmilk is gross! There is NOTHING wrong with sharing breastmilk. There are a couple ladies in my area who I have been pumping for. No big deal.

What a wonderful sister you have! What a wonderful effort you are making for your baby! I am so proud of you and your daughter is sooo lucky to have a mommy that is trying so hard to give her such a healthy start!

Re: Need encouragement

OMG I've never heard of an LLL leader being so...RUDE!!!

Mama. I have a low supply too (although I don't work - if I did, I'm sure I wouldn't have ANY milk) and I have a friend who pumps for me. DS still has to have formula, as she can't pump as much as he needs, but at least he's getting more bm than I can give him. And I plan to let him self-wean, even with my low supply.

You can do it!!

Re: Need encouragement

I thought the whole POINT of the LLL was to encourage women to bf as long as possible! That's just awful! I would definitely find out where you can report her, both for her rudeness and what would seem to be anti-LLL philosophy. to you and for wanting to give your baby the very best!

Re: Need encouragement

I would imagine there is some way to report this leader to LLL. I am sure that is not what they expect from leaders and not the image they want to put out. I would check the website to see if there is a way to report issues or call their 800 number.

I can not believe she thinks she has the right to say these types of things.

Good luck with your goals, and tell your sister congrats on being able to do what she does for you and others. Hugs mamma.

Re: Need encouragement

O Mommy I am sorry you had that experience. It sounds like you are really dedicated to nursing your little one. I was wondering were you wanting suggestions on supply or were you looking for emotional support that you could do it? It sounds like you are doing it to me!!!! Just that you think about it and are taking actions to make it happen tell me that you are indeed making it happen. You are creating your own reality so good for you!!!

Also, would you like the information of the person you can contact about your bad experience. I wasn't there and can't speak for the leader but that certainly isn't the way LLL is suppose to work. It is helpful to hear experiences like that because it helps us to keep LLL in good standing. If you would like help PM me and I will be happy to help you.

In the meantime keep up the great work Mama!! Of course you can do it. You are doing it!!!
