Diaper Swappers

My DD is 1 and she is nursing 24/7 almost and it is painful! She is biting again and pinching and it is very taxing on me. DH is gone and I have not slept in almost 2 weeks.

Is there a reason she might be nursing this often? I am not looking to wean her anytime soon, but I need get some sleep!!

I hear ya! Is there any chance she's teething? Gracie's getting molars and is power nursing lately. Biting and pinching too..ouch! It's almost like she wants to nurse, but she wants to run around the room while she's nursing..

Maybe she's missing her daddy?

I nurse for as long as I can handle it and then I offer a solid snack, some fruit or something. That works during the day, but at night I don't know what to tell you

I've been getting up and walking with her. But that's not going to get you any sleep now is it?

DD did that with me this weekend, Every time she bit or pinched I told her "no" very sternly and ended that nursing session. I would not let her relatch for 5 min after doing either. After 3 times, she stopped. My DD also thinks that both of my breasts need to be available to her 24/7 so she can play, come snack, go play, come back etc, etc, etc... I did just the oppostie of the PP and didn't give solids this weekend so that when we sat down to nurse she was hungry and ate instead of just snacking and playing around. As far as nighttime, I sleep in a very loose spagetti strap tank top and DD can get to either breast as she wants, nighttime she is self-serve and I usually don't wake up.

My dd did this during the day for a couple weeks. Thankfully she slept at night. I think she was getting her molars. Anyway, after a couple of weeks she went back to normal. I hope yours does, too!

This is happening to me too - normally since about 10 months my dd did not NURSE at all during the day (but early in the AM sometimes) now all of a sudden she is nursing 5-10 times a day

and its VERY painful for me too. So, we're back tracking. I think she is teething hardcore right now though so that is probably why.

Does she have her molars yet? My oldest got his molars right about that time and acted very similar. The way I've dealt with biting is - when they bite, end the feeding.. Even if they come back to finish 5min later.

She is teething....she has 6 teeth now and I think she is getting 2 or 3 more! She actually slept a bit last night! She is sleeping now....but she hasn't been too horrible today!

Could it be that she's upset by DH deploying? I remember when I was nursing Sophie and DH went TDY. Sophie was on my 24/7 until he came home about a month later

He is not deploying quite yet....he has been in the field lots, but I suppose it is possible she is missing him because he is usually home for the weekend and he wasn't this weekend. He comes home tomorrow so heres hoping she is better!!!
