I don't qualify for WIC anymore. I probably am deficient in nutrients, I hardly eat, just dont' want it, and I'm still bf, I can't take the prescribed prenatals, they make me sick! It has a horrible aftertaste (fishy) ewwww I hate fish to begin with. The only full meal I eat is supper. I don't eat breakfast and I eat a quick lunch - sandwhich or something like that
No they cut my hair with regular cutting scissors, I normally have really thick wavy hair. I can definately tell the difference now

Could you get on a state medical program? We have one in IL that covers children and their parents up to a certain income...

I would definately have your thyroid checked. Thyroid and hormones can change drastically during and after pregnancy, even if you are on medication. You may need your meds changed.

If you can't stand the taste of Rx vitamins- you can take regular womens daily- or take childrens chewables. I thought yo could get WIC for a couple years- like till your child is 4 or 5 when you are in a certain income bracket?
(We missed it by like $2,000.. ugh)
I lost alot of hair at 4 months PP. It's still falling out, but not as bad now...

No, I was on Medicaid, but after 2 months pp, they cut me off. My dd is still covered until the end of Sept. David got a slight raise this year and now make $200 too much per year to qualify

Do they have a paid ins. program in your state? In MD they have the free state Medicaid and then for people who make just a little bit too much they also have a paid program where you pay like $40/mo. That's what we had to use. Also, the WIC program guidlines actually state that as long as you are on medicaid (even the premium paid one) you qualify no matter what your income is. You might check it out on that note.

I was on WIC but since we no longer qualify for Medicaid, we no longer qualify for WIC, not to mention that everything WIC gives would go to waste here. We do organic. I don't think we qualify for anything related to Medicaid, I've checked the Texas Medicaid website. We are going to just have to shell out the 200 dollars a month for insurance. I don't know how lol but we'll figure it out.

Have you been feeling 'normal'? Problems with your thyroid can make your hair fall out. hyperthyoridism does that I guess. I have hypothyroidism, and when I started taking the thyroid meds, by hair started falling out because of that.


I'm an idiot, I just read further down that you have thyroid problems. duh!

My TSH levels were at 140! When I had it checked the first time(I think they said a normal level is a 2), I just had it checked again yesterday, and they're normal now. But, my hair is still falling out. So who knows.

I though hypothyroid makes your hair fall out? I was diagnosed with hypo when I was 15, took the meds for a few months then quit because I couldn't afford it at the time, Started back again when I got pregnant (doc said it was a miracle I got pregnant my TSH level was 29.1!) I had a previous miscarriage because of my thryoid (I'm guessing that's the reason) Maybe I'm taking too much?? My dosage now is 125mcg a day...before I got pregnant it was 50..during pregnancy it was 150

Maybe I've got it backwards. My thyroid has completely shut down because I had hashimoto thyroiditis, the virus that attacks and destroys the thyriod. Which is why my levels were so freakishly high. I know my hair was fine until I started on meds. I think the shock to my system is what did it. But, I'm still losing hair everday. I think I'm going to quit washing and brushing!
