What do you feed your 1 year old?
I need some new ideas for breakfast and lunch. I think he's getting bored with the usual choices but I don't want to overwhelm his system with anything crazy.
What do you feed your 1 year olds? So far breakfast here is oatmeal, some fruit or a piece of toast and some egg. Lunch is usually Yobaby, some fruit, carrots and maybe a slice of cheese. Dinner he eats whatever we eat, usually veggies and some meat or pasta. |

Re: What do you feed your 1 year old?
If he is starting to show interest in using a spoon my girls like cereal w/ yogurt. The yogurt helps the cereal (like kix or cherrios) stick to the spoon and make less of a mess than milk. We make French toast(no syrup for little one, just cut up into bites), sometimes Dd will just have dry cereal and fruit, w/ a cup of milk
At lunch I make grilled cheese sandwiches, cut up in bites with some fruit and veggies. Or ham and cheese and crackers. I know there is more but my head is in a fog from this cold. LOL Dinner is what ever the rest of us are having, unless it is too spicy. |

breakfast is some cheerios and yogurt, lunch is grilled cheese and soup or some other kind of noodles, dinner is whatever I'm having. This is what's going on this week, next week he could be obsessed with something else besides noodles.

Re: What do you feed your 1 year old?
Umm... DS still eats baby food a lot of the time.
He's really small (so not as coordinated) though so it would take him 2 hours if his whole meal was finger food, kwim? But basically I just keep a huge stock of frozen veggies and some fruits, dried beans, rice, pasta, etc and just throw some of those together. I like to buy those little cubes of cheese too because they are the perfect size for him and I'm lazy so they work. But, like I said, he still eats pureed stuff and like the Gerber Graduates (or the Del Monte equivalent). |

Re: What do you feed your 1 year old?
At 1 year of age, DD was on "real" food.
Breakfast (any of the below): scrambled eggs oatmeal with applesauce or blueberries organic waffles (plain, no syrup) whole wheat pancakes with blueberries (plain, no syrup) Lunch (any of the below PLUS a veggie): grilled cheese sandwich turkey and cheese sandwich ham and cheese sandwich homemade sunflower seed butter w/all fruit spread sandwich pasta with shredded cheddar cheese pasta with tomato sauce soup Gerber Graduates/Beechnut meals (if in a hurry) Dinner (any of the below PLUS veggie): anything from lunch Gardenburger Mac & Cheese (natural or organic) grilled chicken Snacks (any of the below...3 snacks/day): applesauce YoBaby yogurt just about any fresh fruit (she LOVES bananas and kiwis!) fruit cups (only the ones packed in juice) string cheese organic graham crackers organic cereal bars organic wheat crackers raisins (with close supervision) whole wheat Goldfish Wasa crackers I know there are a lot of crackers on that list... in a typical day, the snacks are yogurt, applesauce, and fruit. The crackers/other snacks are extras if she's still hungry after a meal or snack (and we give her a lot of variety). Fruit always gets the highest priority. I'll admit our meals haven't had much variety lately. But she happily eats peas, broccoli, and green beans so she gets at least one of them at lunch and dinner every day.
