Tips for BFing when it is hot

Today was the second time it has been hot and I have struggled w/ feeding Reese (4 1/2 months). She is hot and I am hot and we are a sweaty mess . . . and out of the house (or else I would strip down). Any advise . . . Ideas?

I finally nursed her walking around . . . it was oddly cooler just hard on my arm!!!

strip her. when its warm my son who is also 4 and 1/2 months this saturday he just goes around in a diaper and a onesie. we walk and nurse or i fan us with the changing pad in the diaper bag haha

No ideas except to sit in front of a strong fan!!! I have fed DS at my gym when I left in the middle of a stair class. Talk about a sweaty mess

i was thinking of getting some powder to keep in the diaper bag for this kind of thing... im a very weird person though... i hate hate hate HATE being wet. HATE it. Only time i liked water was when i was pregnant. I cant express how much i hate getting wet unless its in the shower, lol.

Thanks . . . I guess I just don't know what to do when not at home (where a fan is available). She was only in a sundress and diaper!

I'll figure it out . . . since we are going to Hawaii at the end of the month!!!

for me, when I'm nursing sitting down in one spot I feel hotter than if I'm walking around. BTW, your bebe is 4 days older than mine. I feel all giggly and excited

I found it more uncomfortable when DD was naked b/c then our skin would stick together. yuk. I put a burp cloth in the crook of my elbow so I wouldn't feel so sticky next to DD's sweaty hair and neck. A spray bottle for a cool mist on your neck and chest might feel nice

Huh... I don't remember what I did last summer. I certainly stopped covering up. I told people to live with it. That's when I perfected the art of breastfeeding without showing anything. I remember I would point the fan at myself and have an icy cold glass of water beside me if that helps.

On the beach today I officially got over it. I looked around and saw so much near-nudity I just didnt even worry about it. DH started looking a little squirmy though

Not meaning to take over the post...
But what is it about breastfeeding in public that's so much more offensive than my having to look at women's thonged rear ends or nipple only covering bikini tops while at the pool/beach???? Even my dh who enjoys looking at the other is opposed to my feeding in public.

I just don't get it.
