This was my dd's first pregnancy and she had a large baby-(9bs 2 oz). Her LC and ped. told my daughter the same thing abut traumatic births causing a problem w/ latch and the L & D nurses said big babies tend to be lazy .My own LO'swere all big babies too and none were lazy to nurse so I think its more about the birth exp. Dd was very close to needing vacuumed because LO's heart rate kept dropping too after she got unstuck.

That is such great news. I just want to say I would encourage her to get in touch with a La Leche League leader. They are such a great support and will usually come to your house for a visit.
I had multiple nursing problems and had to ep for a month. It was great to have some support.
Breastfeeding problems can come and go and its great to have a leader to call anytime. They are even better than some lactation consultants (but not all ) and free too.
