what is your bedtime routine?

She has a routine, but not a specified time for said routine. She eats supper usually around 5-6pm, and when she starts showing signs that she's sleepy, I'll run her a bath while she plays with daddy if it's bath night (due to her eczema, we bath every third night, or as needed), change her into a night diaper, either a BGOS pocket with a super-do, or a sposie (still finishing off my stash), slather her up with her moisturizer and/or cortizone cream, and put her in night clothes - sleeper, or Tshirt, depending on the weather. Brush her teeth and hair, get a goodnight kiss from daddy, and then I sing her a lullabye as I put her down to sleep.

DD is 18 months. She's been fighting night night the past couple of nights but up until now we've had a great routine. Put on PJ's, brush teeth, read a BUNCH of books (each time I let her know we're almost ready for night night and then really stress when it is "the last book"... she's a book worm). Then I hold her and rock her and sing while I give her her blanky and put her down. I say night night and she says night night mommy back... it's awesome.

We got thrown off our schedule a couple of nights ago and now I'm paying for it. She's usually willing and ready to go down around 6:45, tonight she was still fighting at 7:30, but not in an overtired way. I'm thinking we just need to transition into a new routine.

Pretty simple routine for us, really. Around 8:30 we kiss daddy (I do too, because i'm notorious for falling asleep with DD....), go upstairs & brush teeth & she gets into pj's. She plays a bit, and likes to diaper her stuffed bunny, while I tidy up and get ready for the morning.

If she's a bit wired up, we check the sky for moon & stars so we can say goodnight to them. We look out the window for puppydogs and cats and babies, and talk about how they are at home, sleeping. Then we either squish into her toddler bed or into our 'big bed' and I nurse her (and sometimes me) to sleep.

6:30-8 playtime
8ish- bath/ massage with lotion/pjs
8:15ish chocolate milk
8:30ish brush teeth
8:35ish read for 20 mins
9:00ish tucked into bed

Sean's only 11 months old so maybe this isn't relevant...but what we do is:

~bath (anywhere from 5:30pm-7pm)
~bottle (immediately after bath)
~sleep (sometimes he falls asleep while drinking his bottle, otherwise I have to rock him to sleep in the glider chair)

He's usually down for the night by 7:30pm, but it can get as late as 9pm if he's really fighting sleep.

We play till about 7:30pm. Then I bathe Max and Dh plays a bit more with Zosia. Then I get Max ready and nurse him and get him to sleep while DH bathes Zosia and gets her ready. After her jammies and stuff she takes her blankie and lays down and puts herself to sleep. They also read books as he gets her ready.

Greyson is 11months as well and we have done the same routine since he was 6 weeks old only making sure around 8months that we did the book. The times varies based on when his last nap was or if he is just tired and wants to go down. but generally it looks like this

6:15ish-6:40 supper time
6:45ish bath
7pm lotion, mini-massage, read him a story usually Mr. Brown can moo can you and then put on sleepsack give daddy kisses theni kiss him and lay him in his crib.
