Gymboree sizing? and toddler?

So my ds will be 2 in Aug. I bought him a bunch of gymboree clothes for the winter in a size 3T and 3. THey are way too big on him! Will he fit into tem at all this year? How soes teh sizing go when they are 2, 3 ,4 etc... DO they wear their age or a year ahead ?(ds is not 30lbs yet)

Also what size should I get dd for the fall/winter? She will be a 1 year Dec 26 and her 6-12 gymbo are still huge on her. ( She is 16lbs )

It just depends on the child I think-my 3.5 yr old can wear a 3 in gymbo with no problem but my 23 month old is almost in a gymbo 3 already! sara

I think Gymboree runs a little big. I've been told that most kids wear the size that corresponds to their age. My DD will be 13 months tomorrow; she's 20 ish pounds, and she wears mostly 12-18 months. In dresses she can easily wear 6-12 months, but she needs the bigger size in pants/shorts to fit over her fluffy booty

My guys were 2 last October (and were 28lbs and 30lbs, 34" tall at their 2 yr appt) and they wore 2T all winter. They're 30lbs and 32lbs and 37" now and are wearing 3T nicely - it's still big, but far from too big and I'm sure they'll still be fine in the size for quite a while. I find Gymboree to be one of the larger fitting brands, but so far my guys have generally worn the size that corresponds to their age - I find their weight and height guidelines are very true to size.

For your dd, I'd probably buy a some 6-12 month and some 12-18 month since her birthday straddles the season.

I just tried on the 3t and no way will it fit ds this year. It goes down to his knees I just called all the stores in my area and they have no 2T stuff left for boys for the 6.99 and under sale.

They are the only clothes that run true to size for us

definately depends on the child like any other brand of clothes. My DS is 9 months and wears 18-24 Gymboree and my DD is 4 years old and wears size 5 Gymboree(and has been for almost a year).

My DD has looong legs, and the only Gymboree clothes I've ever tried on her were 2 sleepers, and they didn't fit her because of her long legs. I'm still trying to unload them to someone else, whose kid doesn't have long legs

Gymbo has always run a tad on the bigger side for us, DS is 6 and can wear size 5 stuff and size 6 stuff. DD is 2.5 and mostly wears 2T but can fit into a lot of 18-24mo stuff still because she is a skinny minnie.

I think they run quite big. Especially once you are out of the layette section!
