To shower or not to shower?

Okay ladies, a first time mom needs some help...
Most days, it's not a problem, but fussy days... How do I get a shower in? My 6 week old has a slight cold and has been nursing all day. By all day, I mean, other than a 30 min. nap in his Kozy while I did housework this a.m., he's been on and off constantly. He's not even sleeping other than a fairly alert dozing now and then. I hate leaving him in the swing to cry so I can shower, but ewwww... Do I leave him or skip the shower? Are there other options?

does he have a bouncy chair or something like that where you can put him in the bathroom with you so he can see/hear you? when my DD was small, i just put her in her crib when i showered. i didn't shower for a long time, but it helped her learn that crying for a minute is okay.

you've gotta take care of you too, mama!!!!!

Shower ? Whats a shower ?

I wait till hubby is home to take my showers , that is the only time I am ever alone so I take nice long showers lol , it's my only me time , but then even is Hannah is still crying at least daddy is holding her and she's not just alone .

Sometimes though I don't get to shower when I would like , stuff still happens , mama isn't always as clean as she could be

When my daughter was small like that I would put her in the bouncy seat on the bathroom floor and take a shower. If she got fussy, I would sing to her and she loved it.

When dd got a little older, she would let me put her in the exersaucer in the bathroom while I showered, but now we're back to showering when Daddy's home.

Re: To shower or not to shower?

I used a solarveil sling when my babies were little so that I could still shower daily. Sorry, but I am not skipping my shower, nor am I about to leave my baby to cry....therefore the only solution I could find was to either shower when they were asleep or wear them in a sling.
