That's what I have always done. My husband travels a lot so it is just my daughter and me. She is almost 2 and we still bathe together.

That said...I'm now gammaw, the girl twin (she's 18) has a 7 month old son. Gampaw and I help her ALOT...but one thing she's on her on about is getting ready to go in the mornings. She has a bouncer chair in the bathroom...and she just straps him in and he watches her shower. It works for them!

This is exactly what I did! Or I just wait until DH comes home.

agreed, there's no reason for them to learn to cry.

The less they cry as a baby, the less they will cry and whine later!

I would put them in a carseat or bouncy seat in the bathroom and play peek-a-boo. When they got older I used an exersaucer, my DD still plays in the bathroom while I shower (@ 4yo).
When my DS was super fussy I would put him in a sling and just get a quick shower.
I would love if DH's schedule worked so I could shower while he's home, but it doesn't. You find things to occupy them while you do what you have to, lol.

I agree as well. My daughter loved being in the bouncy seat in the bathroom. In fact, I think the sound of the running water was soothing to her. If she got fussy once I was lathered up and soapy, I would sing to her and she would stop crying.

I would never choose to let my baby cry just so that I could get a shower in that second.

Thanks to the bouncy seat I got my daily showers in, in those first months! Now, it's the exer-saucer in the bathroom.

Boucy seat, right next to the shower. The real plus to that is that the steam will help him breathe easier too! I used to crack the shower door so they could see my face and they didn't cry.

Re: To shower or not to shower?

I would lay my ds on the bath mat while I showered when he was still little (very soft mats and before he could roll over). We also had a curtain that had see through squares on it so I was able to keep an eye on him at all times while in there. He loved it though, the white noise is very soothing to them.
