Re: How do YOU make meatballs?
I cook mine in the sauce too, we saw Emeril doing that - makes a huge difference in the meatballs, they are alot more moist that way. I buy the 93% lean.

Re: How do YOU make meatballs?
I don't just use plain ground beef...I use a mixture of ground up beef, pork and veal ground up then add salt, pepper, basil, oregona, garlic powder, eggs, and breadcrumbs. Yummy!

Re: How do YOU make meatballs?
I usually just add a packet of liptons onion soup mix to ground beef and then precook them in the oven. They are still really tasty and its super easy to do.

Re: How do YOU make meatballs?
I'm going to try cooking some in the sauce next time. Thanks for the tip!
Do you brown in a skillet first and then put in the sauce? How many hours do they need to simmer in the sauce before being completely done? |

Re: How do YOU make meatballs?
I use half beef and half turkey. Basil, oregano, fresh parsley, salt and pepper, minced garlic, minced onion, italian breadcrumbs, an egg white, just a touch of liquid smoke (just a touch!!), and some red pepper flakes. I brown in the oven and then put them in the sauce.
