HCG Levels a 6?!!!?!!! (updated-totally prego. #3 here we come!)

AFAIK, anything greater than 5 is positive - 2-5 is negotiable.

It depends on the lab. Each lab has it's own negative values. For some it's under 2, for some 5, for some 25...I would guess her lab is 2 or 5

The labs my doctors have used go by 0-2 as a negative test, and 5 and above as a positive. In the middle is a grey area. These are multiple labs with different doctors. So it really just depends on the lab. A 6 is a positive test for the vast majority of labs.

For our lab 5 and under is not preggo, 5-20 is "indeterminate" and over 20 is preggo.

With DS I got a faint BFP at 8 DPO, had blood drawn that same day and it was 56. A day and a half later it was 200.

If it were me, I'd do what the other ladies said and try a sensitive test like FRER on Christmas morning. If it is positive, what a great present. If it is negative, then you can keep it to yourself until you can get back to the doctor for another blood draw.

thats what ive known.

since youd only be 3 and couple days and most people dont test until at least 4..registering as something is..something at least for then. what happened since?

My lab (very expensive fertility specialist) say that 5 and above is considered a positive. I have had a test come back as 4 and then a few days later, it was up and that is the pregnancy that resulted in my 2 year old son. Personally I would share with your hubby and not tell any other family.
