what's the one song that will put them to sleep? For dd, it used to be A Perfect Circle ~ Counting Bodies...now, anything by the Cranberries works. Don't be scared to mention The Thunderlords!!! For those that don't know...it's heavy metal songs for kids..."I Like Dirt" "Ice Cream Headache" I so need to get one of those cds.

Wow, completely on the other end of the spectrum but I have a recording of Pachelbel's Canon in D that was done with classical guitar and harp. It's beautiful. I used to play it at bedtime when my older kids were preschoolers and toddlers. They still call it the bedtime song. Now they like stories on CD at bedtime rather than songs. Gulliver's Travels, particularly the Isle of Lilliput, is their favorite for going to bed.

For nap time - I sing a prayer over DD that is all about her future friends, husband, education, maturity in Christ, and obediance to us - at night time I do about the same thing, but mostly praying for her teeth not to bother her, for her thoughts, and dreams, it something is bothering her (ear infection, tummy ache, or whatever) and that she'll sleep til 8... - that one hasn't happend since time change

Jackson goes to sleep listening to the Disney Lullabies CD (you can get it from Target) it's so nice!! *I* love going to sleept to it!

I always used to sing him "Be Thou My Vision" (It's an old Irish Christian song), Jesus Loves Me, and You Are My Sunshine. He likes those too.

followed by
Row your boat, Jen sings wow wow wow wow then mawaly mawaly mawaly
Then we sing Mary had a little lamb
followed by a night night song we made up, saying night to teddy too.
