Who has a BabyHawk?

I just want to hear some more about them before I order. DS is 22 lbs and almost 10months old. I currently wear him in the hip carry in my RS and it's killing my shoulder after 30 min or so. I would like to take walks in comfort with him as I don't use or even own a stroller anymore.

I have one!! I love it. I have a 19 month old son and an 11 week old son. I can easily carry my 19mo. old in a back carry, he loves it, and it's so comfy. We go for long walks around the neighborhood and park like this. My 11 week old son loves it, too. He snuggles up against my chest in a front carry and zonks out!

Re: Who has a BabyHawk?

I do! I bought one in June and LOVE it! I used it a lot more than I expected to. I have 5 little ones plus a daycare guy PT so if I go somewhere (like to drop off & pick up from school) its easy to put the 2yos in the double stroller and the almost 1yo in the MT! Hold the other ones hands, etc.
If you really enjoy BWing, you may want to try a wrap type too. They're good for bigger babies and have several carries. I bought a Storch for my b-day and have only used it a few times but I LOVED it!!! My DS is 22lbs & almost 1!

I have one and I LOVE it!! My ds2 is 18 months old and weighs around 28 lbs (I think) and I can carry him for hours and it doesn't even make me tired. i had 4 herniated disks in my lower back when ds1 was a baby, and if I have to hold ds2 very long in my arms it makes my back hurt, but I can tie him on in the BH and literally tote him around for a few hours at a time with no problems.

I have to be the voice of dissent here. I had one and just wasn't crazy about it. I never found it to be terribly comfortable. I have an 11month old who is about 25lbs and after just a little while it would be digging into my shoulders. It's definately better than a ring sling for a heavier child, but in my opinion a kozy or feehand are better Mei Tais.

Would you recommend a "Storch" for a year old 22lb baby? With wraps do you have to get different sizes for youself as well? I've seen a couple wraps and they looks so comfy, but also so much more confusing! I'm intimidated!

( Sorry! )

I have a Moby wrap and used it for quite awhile, until DS got to be long enough where he kicked DH and I in not so comfortable places.

Re: Who has a BabyHawk?

What about an Ergo? I just wonder how comfy it will be to carry him in the BH since he's already such a big guy! I'm going to get one soon for Noah because I won't be able to use the Bjorn for much longer in the front
