I've got my 1st MT coming in the mail, and can't wait to use it since DD's much heavier now. My question is - have you, or do you carry your NB in a MT? I have a bjorn, and found it to be so easy when DD was new. I just don't want to get rid of it if I'll use it again with the next one. The MT looks so much more comfy - but since I've never used one before I just don't know

Re: a ? for those who carry their babies...
Yes you can carry a newborn in a MT.
http://www.freehandbaby.com/wear-baby.php scroll all the way to the bottom and you will see how to use it for a NB. http://www.kozycarrier.homestead.com/instructions.html There is good info here too. Also you might want to check out this link too. http://www.thebabywearer.com/

If everyone was the same the world would be a VERY boring place.

Re: a ? for those who carry their babies...
I have been wearing Lilly in my Moby since she was brand new, I just got a MT last week (she is nearly 3 months but smaller, MAYBE 12lbs) and have tried that a few times. I do love it but if she were any smaller I wouldn't use it, just not as secure of a feeling as my Moby.

Re: a ? for those who carry their babies...
I haven't yet, but after borrowing one of mine my (then pg) friend got one and LOVED it for the day-long wearing of the early days. I'll be testing it out in Feb....

Re: a ? for those who carry their babies...
i prefer a smaller-bodied MT w/ a smaller baby -i wore DS in a FH MT from day 1.
you just need to "froggie" their legs rather than sticking them out the sides, and also it's helpful to cross the straps behind the baby's back instead of under the bum so they don't slouch down too much. |

Re: a ? for those who carry their babies...
I could never get comfortable in the snuggly or bjorn. I wore ds2 in a maya wrap ring sling and my Freehand Mei Tai from the time he was tiny. I always felt perfectly secure and much more comfy than the snuggly.

I carried my baby in a WAHM ring sling. It was great, comfy and he loved it. It took a little getting the hang of it, but once I got it down, it was great!
