No, when I told her I was taking Sky for the night since she was drunk she was happy to have her come here........no wonder right.

When she calls later....cuz she will when she sobers up later....you need to tell her that you dont feel comfortable taking Skylar over there until she seeks some help...she will yell and be mad and you have to stand firm and tell her you are not taking her child, but are not going to knowing put Skylar in a possibly dangerous situation and tell her that she needs to seek help and that you will ahev to take nessecary steps in calling the authorites if she doesnt figure it out...

cuz the worst thing would be if you take skylar back and something happens to her...coul dyou ever forgive yourself for not stepping in and helping the helpless child...not saying that if something did happen to her it would be you fault cuz it wouldnt be at all, but as a mother I to know how much I "mother" and look out for other children when I can...

I would call the grandma and give her a heads up and let her know whats going on.....I would defintely check it out what happens to the lil' girl...I just wouldnt wash my hands yet....Maybe she will be safe with grandma, but maybe not??? ykwim??

The grandma was given my phone number as a contact person, and she is calling tomorrow to leave a message for Jackie.
I'm so going to fill her in. That is such a good suggestion.

Is there anyway that people can think this is okay?
I'm again, not exposed to this sort of thing, but isn't drinking legal, so if I call CPS, or the Grandma (and who really knows what her stance on drinking is) what if they are like "drinking's legal....there's nothing we can do."
Is it considered neglect to drink before your child gets home knowing you're the only one there to care for her when she arrives? Or is that how some people live?
I'd think it was neglect.
And irresponsible.
And .......well, you get the point.
