Re: Ok, all your teething aides needed NOW--Update w/ ped suggestions!

I've tried all the holistic teething relievers and honestly, the only thing that really worked was a combo of Hyland's tablets, Motrin, and baby Oragel. My kids never wanted to chew or hold anything cold for very long.

Hylands teething tablets
Gaia's gummy rub
Camilia single dose of a oral liquid teething stuff - also homeopathic

You can also try putting a drop of Oil of Cloves in with vegetable glycerin/oil and mixing that up to rub on the gums.

Re: Ok, all your teething aides needed NOW--Update w/ ped suggestions!

I was actually going to offer a few that I got from the coop to my ped to try--or to share w/ some of her patients to see how they liked them. Then that fell thru I do plan on asking her if she's had any experience w/ them at DD's next appt...
Today I was telling a co-worker about how hysterical DD was over her first tooth during my Thanksgiving break. I told her I was willing to try anything and was trying to get a teething necklace from a coop to see if it'd help. Well, she makes jewelry and offered to make me an amber necklace (to my specifications of knotting after ea. bead and using a magnetic clasp) but then said 'But we don't actually believe this will work, now do we?' Well...maybe we're not in the same mindset, but I'll take a free amber necklace any day!

Can you give the Hyland's and Motrin at the same time? I often find that I give the Hyland's and then realize that he is in way more pain than I think and should have given him something else...Thanks if anyone knows....

I almost always give both for pain. The Hylands calms them down and the Motrin relieves the pain.

That's probably Boiron - they are a well-known homeopathic maker. Another possibility is Boericke & Tafel (sp?). I was going to suggest some homeopathic things too, but your ped beat me to it! Oh, and we love Hyland's here, too!
