I'm surprised no one has mentioned it, "Spilled Milk: Breastfeeding Adventures and Advice from Less-Than Perfect Moms" I loved it. I read it along after the birth of my first baby with a couple of the classics (Womanly Art...) and really appreciated all the real life stories. It was encouraging in both the struggles and the successes of the women in the book.

GREAT book for a first time momma. Good research, easy read, and lotssss of really good information. My MW has 5-6 of these books she lends out and I had to wait almost 3 months to finally get one. She highly recommends it.

'Mothering Your Nursing Toddler' by Bumgarner.

This book provides you with all of the tools, information and support to nurse your baby past one year. I loved it and it totally changed my point of view. I planned on weaning my baby at one year and now we will nurse as long as she wants, yay!
