Try a CTRL+F5 or clear your browser cache to fix the QR box. Annoying way to deal with it but we only have that way to deal with it.

As for the other colors, this upgrade was just for the forum software and not design related stuff like different colored skins. As for why not.. I will have to discuss with Lee on that one and get back to you.

the only thing im noticing at this point that is not good/ annoying is the fact that all the font is grey not black...makes it hard to see/read

I tried refreshing the page and doing SHIFT+F5 and it didn't change

They are separate from PMs and the default is that they CAN be seen by everyone. There is a new option in the User CP (that whole thing is all changed up, lol) called Profile Privacy and you can go there to make it more private.
